ÉDITH DUCHARME, RECIPIENT OF A NEW GENERATION SCHOLARSHIP FROM THE OIQF IN 2019, RECEIVES THE 2019 ORDER OF THE WHITE ROSE SCHOLARSHIP

The dynamic Édith Ducharme is currently completing a Master’s in engineering physics at École Polytechnique. At 23, Édith’s community involvement sets her apart. During her undergraduate studies at Laval University, she took the time to organize several events aimed at encouraging women to pursue careers in engineering. In 2019, not only did she earn a New Generation Scholarship from the OIQF, but was also awarded the Order of the White Rose scholarship from École Polytechnique. In an article published on the Polytechnique website, Édith Ducharme explains what drives her: “When I realized that the reason it was so hard for me to choose a career in engineering was because I had no female role models, I knew that the best way to pay it forward, was to become the model I would have loved to have had. The Order of the White Rose is a step in that direction.” To continue to encourage her peers, Édith didn’t hesitate to respond to our “appeal for good news.” A small gesture that speaks volumes about this exceptional young woman.
